What is Sadhana and why should I do it?

28 December 2025

Sadhana is a daily? practice of one Kriya (completed set of postures) for 40 days. There are literally thousands of Kriyas to choose from, thanks to the internet (including the ones on my YouTube channel). You pick one, and for 40 days, you do it every day without fail. It entails making a commitment to yourself, being true to your word, and following through.

So why would anyone in their right mind want to do such a thing? There are several reasons, for me, first and foremost, Yoga is not a one-and-done form of exercise. It is a deeply spiritual practice designed to transform our very being and open us to the latent potential we all possess but are afraid to explore. The experience of practicing one meditation or one Kriya daily is beyond words.

You learn to move through the times when you are not in the mood. You experience days when it is just a habit. You will sometimes fight your way through it, not feeling the love. However, as you move through the process, you also find deep stillness within, an inner strength that only comes from regular practice, a joy that is unfathomable as it becomes a part of you. At the end, there is a deep stillness that finds you in clarity, in wisemind, and at peace with your Sat Nam (your true self). DARE YOU!
