TOMATO AND RICE SOUP

1 onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, pressed

2 stalks celery, sliced thin

1/2 green pepper, diced

2 carrots, sliced thin

broth for sauteeing

3/4C brown rice

1 qt chopped tomatoes

1C tomato juice (I use V-8 and cheat)

2t oregano

1t Nama Shoyu

2C water

3T vegetable broth concentrate

2C nut mylk (I use almond/coconut mylk)

6T chopped Basil

Sauté the first 6 ingredients until slightly soft. Add remaining ingredients, except the mylk and basil. Then bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to a simmer and cook until the rice is done (about an hour). Add mylk and top with basil.

I like the snap in V-8 juice and will sometimes use the spicy version. As far as the concentrated broth, I like the “Better than Boullion “brand

TOOTHPASTE

6T coconut oil 1T diatomaceous earth

5T calcium powder 20 drops Trace Minerals

2T baking soda 10 drops clove oil

Melt coconut oil and whisk in remaining ingredients. Store in a tightly sealed container.

WINTER TEA

1/2t Cumin Seeds

1/2t Coriander Seeds

1/2t Fennel Seeds

Slice of Ginger Root

Place in a quart of water in a pan. Bring to a boil. Let simmer 5 minutes. Strain & Enjoy

2C coconut water

2C coconut mylk

1/2C raw cacao powder

1/2C goji berries

1C hemp seeds

1/2C raw almond butter

4T mesquite powder

I had to share this one because I just can’t stop drinking it! The smell is exotic. The flavor is unreal. So very warming on these cold days. It also works as a digestive, helps with the absorption of nutrients and is gently cleansing.

DECONSTRUCTED SUSHI SALAD

1C Brown Rice

1 Block Firm Tofu, cut in small cubes

1 Carrot, shredded

1C Edamame

2C Spinach

2 Sheets Nori, cut into small pieces

Sesame Seeds for garnish

DRESSING

1/2C Grapeseed Oil

2T White Miso

2T Rice Vinegar

2T Maple Syrup

1T GF Tamari

1t Toasted Sesame Oil

1 Inch Ginger Root, sliced

1 clove garlic

Red Chili Flakes, to taste

Water to thin mixture as needed

Layer salad ingredients in a bowl with spinach, brown rice, carrot, edamame, tofu, nori and sesame seeds.

Place dressing ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Add water as necessary to make it smooth and pourable but still creamy.

Alternately tofu may be fried first in sesame oil.

Heart Healthy: use vegetable broth instead of oil, omit sesame oil
